This is the image for the news article titled School Governance Councils ApprovedThe Norwalk Board of Education has approved a new policy that will establish School Governance Councils at all schools in the Norwalk Public Schools district.

School Governance Councils will be the primary, local school decision-making body of a school, and will be devoted to achieving its mission and vision. SGCs will focus on the analysis of student achievement, the development of improvement plans, the allocation of resources, and programmatic and operational changes which enhance the quality of the school and the achievement of its students. Members will include parents and guardians, teachers at the school, community leaders, the school principal, and at the high school level, students.
