Information sessions for 8th grade students and their families will be held on Tuesday, November 10 or Tuesday, December 8 from 6:30 to 8pm at Norwalk High School.

The first 9-14 academy in the state of Connecticut, NECA is a partnership between Norwalk Public Schools, Norwalk Community College and IBM.  Norwalk Early College Academy students have an opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and a college degree in as little as four years. 

Admission is open to all Norwalk residents at no cost to students and their families. Admission is by application only and students are admitted through a lottery; there are no tests or screening required for admission. 

Who should consider NECA? Students who are: 
  • Dedicated and hardworking learners ready to embrace the challenges of school, college and career

  • Interested in computers, math and science

  • Eager to learn the skills needed to succeed in highly competitive technology industries

  • Able to attend a freshman academy during the summer before high school

  • Excited to participate in extended school day and summer programs.

  • Willing to intern at IBM and other major companies.
