On Monday, Norwalk Public Schools kicked off the new school year with its 2014 Convocation. This year’s event was lively and upbeat, as teachers, staff and community leaders were welcomed by Dr. Rivera, Mayor Rilling, NFT President Bruce Mellion, and Board of Ed Chairman Mike Lyons. This year, Dr. Rivera also introduced a special guest speaker, Geoffrey Canada, founder, president and former CEO, Harlem Children’s Zone.
