Norwalk Honors Dr. King's Legacy

Dr. Martin Luther King For many years, Norwalk has honored the legacy and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a day of learning and remembrance, in an event for the Norwalk community and beyond.

This year's event takes place, on Monday, January 20 at 10:00am, at West Rocks Middle School in the auditorium. This year's  theme is “Eyes on the Prize.” Dr. Duane Dyson, physician at Norwalk Hospital, will be the guest speaker.  Students from Kendall School will perform along with Norwalk High’s Jazz Combo.

Classes will be conducted for all, pre-school through adult. Several seniors from Norwalk’s three high schools will be honored for their commitment to service. A small commemorative souvenir will be provided. 

The event will follow the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Breakfast which is sponsored by the organization of local clergy, IMF. The breakfast begins at 8:00am in the West Rocks’ cafeteria.
