nWEA MEASURE OF ACADEMIC pROGRESS (map)
Beginning in the 2016-17 school year, Norwalk Public Schools will use NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) tests in grades 3-10. Students in grades 3-10 will be tested in mathematics. Students in grades 4-10 will also be tested in reading, and word usage. These tests are given online three times per year; fall, winter and spring.
MAP is a tool that helps teachers monitor student progress throughout the school year. MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your student’s level of learning. The assessments measure growth and readiness. They show us what a student is “ready to learn”.
Designed by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA), MAP assessments are aligned with Connecticut Core Standards and Smarter Balanced tests. With MAP tests, we receive detailed, accurate information about your student’s growth.
