We're Back! NPD Plans Back-to-School "Slow Down Days"

The Norwalk Police Department will conduct “Slow Down Days” around Norwalk schools beginning this week and continuing over the first two weeks of school. 


These motor vehicle enforcement details will target speeding, passing stopped school buses, and distracted driving in and around school zones. Fines for speeding in a school zone range from $182 to almost $300.  

Norwalk officers are featured in a Public Service Announcement from the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association that reminds motorists that school is back in session! For the full video, click below:

The NPD will be reminding all motorists to be extra cautious for pedestrian traffic and to always obey our school crossing guards.
