The Norwalk Education Foundation will hold its annual Taste for Education event on November 5 from 6-8:30 pm at Aitoro's in Norwalk.

This year's line-up has some all time favorites and a few new surprises. Senator Bob Duff is this year's "Celebrity Chef," preparing his own version of "Stone Soup" in honor of the Norwalk community coming together to support education.

The Little Bear Cafe, a Norwalk High School project started by students, received funding from NEF as part of last year's Shark Tank competition. They will create and serve desserts. Culinary students from Norwalk High School and Nathan Hale Middle School will be preparing a spicy tomato bisque.

Other food and drink providers include: Bloom Brothers, Dash of Salt, Los Poblanos, Sweet Sabrina’s Cake Shop, Cos Cob Catering (Brasitas), DrewBQ barbecue truck, Bar Sugo, Mac-It, Cafe Madrid, Bond Grill, Tutti’s, Wave Hill Breads, Mike’s Deli, Diageo, Solude Coffee and Fountainhead Wines.

In addition to food tastings, NEF will showcase the educational technology it supports through the NPS Tech Coach program. The Norwalk Arts Commission will have a booth to share information on the junior docent program and Norwalk’s renowned WPA murals.

Norwalk Education Foundation raises funds to support excellence in education in Norwalk. NEF has provided seed money to help launch Norwalk Early College Academy, funded Tech Coaches in all Norwalk schools, supported college readiness through college workshops at the library and in the schools, and supported classroom innovation through our Shark Tank Competition. This past summer, NEF supported arts enrichment at the Summer Academy for incoming 9th graders at both high schools, as well as an SAT prep class.
